Biomolecular simulations can quickly produce very large amounts of complex data. How can this best be analysed and validated? This one-day workshop will provide an introduction to this area. Subjects to be covered will include fundamental methods for checking data quality, applications of principal component analysis to data mining, and special techniques for the analysis of membrane protein simulations. Basic familiarity with simulation methods is a prerequisite, but the course does not require knowledge of a particular simulation software package.

Some knowledge of the Linux operating system is desirable, but not essential. The workshop is aimed at, although not restricted to, first/second year PhD students.

The one-day workshop will start at 11am with registration from 10.30am, and be finished by 5pm. A more detailed programme is available.

Registration

There is no registration fee for this workshop. However, participants are responsible for their own travel and accommodation costs. Because of room limitations, each course is restricted to 30 participants.

Register here (select this course under Additional Information on the registration page). The deadline for applications has been extended to Monday 1st September. If a course is over-subscribed, we will select candidates based on location and experience, in order to maximise the impact of the course. Applicants will be notified as soon as possible.

Accommodation

These courses are part of a series of four 1-day workshops to be held at Bristol. If delegates wish to stay for several courses, they are responsible for booking their own accommodation. We recommend the following:
